Tita 42, Opatija) <strong>panel discussion on Citizens' Councils opened by Igor Bajok and Sara Su\u0161anj.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Do city and municipal councils represent the interests and perspectives of citizens living in these places? How many useful ideas are lost through vain politics, quarrelling and bickering, and corruption? Is there a better way to bring citizens together and hear their opinions without ending up in mass participation like yelling at a stadium? <strong>the Council of Randomly Elected Citizens<\/strong> are a good example of how to make democracy inclusive and free of negative influences from political parties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\"><strong>Igor Bajok <\/strong>is a long-time member and key collaborator <strong>the Association for Civil Society Development SMART<\/strong>, located in Rijeka. As a trainer and consultant, he specializes in the field of management of non-profit organizations, organizational development and democratization and civil society development. His experience spans more than twenty years of work in the civil sector, during which he gained extensive experience in organising education, workshops and public events. Bajok was <strong>the General Organizer of the Citizens' Council of Rijeka<\/strong>, a democratic innovation that took place in Rijeka in 2023. <strong>Sara Su\u0161anj<\/strong> the Executive Director <strong>the Delta Association<\/strong>. She leads projects focused on political participation and youth engagement in social processes, and is the vice-president of the Croatian Youth Network, the largest national network of youth associations.
