Inclusion and its boundaries in the cultural field<\/b><\/span>“.<\/span><\/p>\n

Concept of inclusion<\/b><\/span>\u00a0\u2013 including cultural and artistic inclusions \u2013\u00a0<\/span>In recent years, it has become a buzzword, a keyword<\/b><\/span>\u00a0It appears in strategic documents, tenders, programmes and public discourses. While the right of all citizens to participate equally in the cultural life of the community is recognised as a fundamental social value,<\/span>\u00a0Practice shows that inclusion is still very difficult to achieve<\/b><\/span>. The lecture is based on<\/span>\u00a0research of cultural and creative work conducted in 2024 in the city of Rijeka<\/b><\/span>. Through interviews with cultural workers, the research sought to answer several key questions: how cultural workers perceive the idea of inclusion, the challenges of putting it into practice, and what we can do to make culture and art accessible to all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dunja Mati\u0107 Ben\u010di\u0107<\/b><\/span>, the assistant is at\u00a0<\/span>Department of Cultural Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Rijeka<\/b><\/span>. Currently attending Interdisciplinary\u00a0<\/span>Doctoral Program in Humanities and Social Sciences\u00a0<\/b><\/span>at\u00a0<\/span>the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana<\/b><\/span>. It deals with the topics of cultural and creative work and inclusive practices in culture and the arts.\u00a0<\/span>She is the author of the novel \u201cThree-layer bedding\u201d<\/b><\/span>\u00a0(Studio TiM, 2017),\u00a0<\/span>collection of short stories \u201cSynesthesia\u201d<\/b><\/span>\u00a0(Vertia, 2019),\u00a0<\/span>the novel \u201cPeacemaking\u201d<\/b><\/span>\u00a0(V.B.Z. 2022), collections of essays \u201cToo much effort: Essays on Gender, Work and Schedules\u2019 (Durieux, 2024) and\u00a0<\/span>co-author of the manual for women workers in culture\u00a0<\/b><\/span>\u201cGuidelines for Inclusive Cultural Practices\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Organizers from<\/span>\u00a0the Association \u201cCultural Front\u201d\u00a0<\/b><\/span>invite everyone interested to a lecture and socialize with a well-known domestic writer, as well as to participate in a discussion in which something new will surely be learned. The event is open and free of charge for all participants, as well as coffee and tea provided by the organizers so that the discussion can flow in as relaxed a tone as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n
