Kvarner After Dark
Kvarner After Dark
‘Kvarner After Dark: stories from Terra Incognita“ is the common name for a series of storytelling tours that combine elements of a tourist tour, costumed staging and role play, and are intended for various ages and all lovers of history and culture, as well as tourists in search of an experience destination.
The cycle is dominated by walks translated by a group of costumed performers, which, in cooperation with Terra Incognita, are held from spring to autumn in the Kvarner area.
Veprinac Ghost Tour tour of the Old Town of Veprinac, which has the theme of beings from the folk tradition who live together with people. The tour interweaves elements of folklore fiction with historical records and builds an exciting story in which the audience immerses themselves like a tense thriller. Licensed tourist guide and heritage interpreter in the role of Veprinac countess Ana Wallsee takes visitors through the sleeping streets of the old town, and the actors, distributed at checkpoints, embody supernatural beings and in interaction with the audience revive the past time in which it magically intertwines with the real.
Kastav Ghost Tour is a walk that starts from the Old Town of Kastav towards the Kastav Forest, and its theme is creatures from the folk tradition that are traditionally associated with the wilderness area, primarily the forest. It is a hybrid form between a tourist tour and a play in which viewers actively participate. Encountering characters that represent the last trace of untouched wilderness, the audience will discover the challenges of coexistence with nature in modern times and become aware of the need for its preservation.
Lovran: smugglers and pirates is a storytelling adventure that intertwines elements of guided tours, team treasure hunts and role-playing. Moving through the labyrinth of cobbled streets, the teams engage in lively interaction with Lovran merchants and try their hand at various skills, immersing themselves in authentic life stories from Lovran's ancient times while avoiding the vigilant eye of Venetian spies. The adventure is for all ages and is open to friends, colleagues, parents with children, young and old – all lovers of Lovran, heritage, history, pirates and good games.
The project is held in partnership with the association Cultural Front and crafts for the interpretation of heritage Terra Incognita, and is co-financed by the City of Opatija, the City of Kastav, the Municipality of Lovran and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the tourist boards of Opatija, Lovran and Kvarner.
