Liburnian Tabletop Day
Liburnian Tabletop Day
“Liburnian Tabletop Day” is a one-day entertainment and educational event that promoted social games and everything that their playing brings - from laughter and fun to the development of intellectual and social skills. The program was based on a rich offer of table games, several RPG campaigns, prize tournaments and presentations. The project ran from 2014 to 2018 and is no longer active.
This event was intended for everyone., both those who have not yet played table games outside the classic ones (“Monopoly”, “Man does not get angry”, chess, etc.), and those who are already well acquainted with numerous games. Beginners had the opportunity to try, guided by our volunteers, various games that they did not even know existed, which they can later introduce as a regular content of family and friendly gatherings. On the other hand, hardened “gamers” had the opportunity to study one of the games that are on store shelves or on various top lists, but which they did not have the opportunity to test live with their team and check whether they are suitable for them.
There was a special place in the program. RPG Games role-playing games. They form a special group of games in which each player plays one imaginary character and reacts to the events in the story according to his character. RPG games have delighted many for generations, and all it takes to participate in one is imagination, paper and pencil.
Although at first glance “game day” seemed like pure fun, it is much more. Most table games are based on strategy, luck, knowledge or a combination of these elements. Playing alone means spending time in good company, having fun, but at the same time actively thinking, planning and developing various life and social skills. Playing table games, from classic to recent ones, has proven to have a good effect on people of all ages. Table games combine laughter, socializing, learning and developing intellectual abilities into one package.
The first “Liburnian Tabletop Day” was organized in 2014 in the attractive area of the “Link” hostel in Lovran, as part of the celebration of the International TableTop Day. It was repeated several times in Link, and then with the relocation of the association to a new space, he moved to the association space. At that time, however, it was already gay on a regular basis, which coincided with the commemoration of this day.
