Austerity measures and policies in times of economic crisis – 7. Opatija Coffeehouse Debate

The consequences of the 2008 economic crisis are still felt in Europe, and according to the latest research, Croatia seems to be among the slowest recovering countries. The question that arises, among other things, is how should the state be positioned in times of economic crisis? Should public spending be increased to boost production, or should it focus on reducing public spending and austerity measures and policies?

Following these questions, the organizers of the Association for the Development of Youth Culture “Cultural Front” and the Millennium Hotel, as part of the Opatija Coffeehouse Debates project, bring a panel discussion on policies and austerity measures in times of economic crises. OnThe panelists dr.sc. Neven Petrović, political philosopher and assistant professor from the Department of Philosophy of the University of Rijeka, also a recognized expert in the field of distributive justice, and mr.sc. Aneli Dragojević, economist and doctoral student of philosophy at the University of Rijeka, known for her economic reports and interviews for Novi list.
