National Foundation for Civil Society Development grants the Association Cultural Front institutional support

The Association for the Development of Youth Culture “Cultural Front” was founded in 2002. During its 23 years of activity, it has carried out numerous projects and activities and has distinguished itself in the community as a carrier of cultural programs for young people in Opatija and beyond.

Throughout all these years, the work in the association was based on the volunteer engagement of members. As the administrative burden of non-profit organizations has grown over the years, as well as the number and scope of numerous projects and programs implemented by the Association, the maintenance of the general affairs of the Association places an increasing burden on the members and officials of the Association, who, in addition to volunteer work, diligently work on their careers in other areas, from education and medicine to science and tourism.

National Foundation for Civil Society Development is a public institution whose basic purpose is the promotion and development of civil society in the Republic of Croatia. The Foundation provides professional and financial support to programs that encourage the sustainability of the non-profit sector, cross-sectoral cooperation, citizens' initiatives, philanthropy, volunteering, improving democratic institutions of society, as well as other programs that achieve the basic purpose of the Foundation. One of the main goals is to build the capacity of civil society to participate in social development.

Institutional support is a specific part of the Program of financial forms of support of the National Foundation, which is aimed, over a period of three years, at investing in the organizational development and / or stabilisation exclusively of associations registered in the Republic of Croatia.

This is also the case in 2024. The Foundation launched the Call for Applications for Institutional Support to which our Association also applied and was granted financial support in the total value of EUR 31,172 (EUR 10,724 per year). It is important to note that these funds are intended for the regular work of the association. With the majority of the received funds, three people will be employed in the association, one in 20% additional working hours and two to 10% additional working hours. This is for the first time that the Association has employees for regular work. This will enable stabilization of work and a base for smooth and quality implementation of projects. It is also a form of support and valorization of the work that has so far been voluntary, and carries with it a great responsibility and numerous invested hours of work. Of course, work on all FMA projects remains primarily voluntary, as over forty volunteer members will be involved, while employees will perform primarily administrative and logistical tasks.

The remainder of the proceeds will be used to partially cover the Association's Cold Drive Costs (costs of bookkeeping, telecommunications, utilities and payment services). This will largely free projects from covering these costs, leaving them with more financial resources to invest in the direct costs of the project.

The following is highlighted on the Foundation's website: “It is important to have: support!’. Everyone who's ever worked in the nonprofit sector knows that's true. We would like to thank the National Foundation for Civil Society Development for their support and look forward to seeing what we will create in the years to come.
